Team Clarity are super proud to have completed the Trek26 Brecon Beacons in July 2024 in aid of Alzheimer's Society.

Team Clarity members David Thompson, Claire Thompson, Frances Molloy and Mathew Wall set out in the early hours on Saturday 22nd June, 2024 with a goal of crossing the finish line, raising awareness and fundraising for Alzheimer's Society raising £1490. 

As it turned out the distance we walked was just shy of 29 miles and no before you ask it wasn't because we got lost! A challenge not for the faint hearted as our feet were sore and our joints and limbs were aching. In true team spirit we dug deep and in the final miles our bodies had taken a beating so strength of mind, willpower, determination, courage, passion, stubbornness all became personality traits that worked in our favour. Despite all of that as we crossed the finish line we felt accomplished and it was truly awe-inspiring to see the efforts of those participating with a collective mission - 'a world where dementia no longer devastates lives'. 

• 1 in 3 people born in the UK today will be diagnosed with dementia in their lifetime
• 1.4 million people are expected to be living with dementia by 2040
• Dementia is the UK's biggest health and social care crisis  

We don't have any plans just yet to take on another charity FUNdraiser but participating in this event certainly hasn't discouraged us.
